Nice Portfolio: http://www.prototypic.com/

Brian Reed, a member in azFPUG, has been holding out on us. His portfolio is quite nice. There are some very nice designs in there. Great work Brian! All this time and you are just sitting in our backyard with some sweet designs. :-D

This is so much kuler!

Adobe has showcased Flash 9 in a great way. Here is what the site says Kuler is.

“kuler is brand new from Adobe Labs. kuler helps you explore, create and share color themes for your web pages, design projects and other creative work.

You can use kuler as an on-line application or you can download themes to use with Adobe Creative Suite 2 applications.”

That’s what Adobe says on the site. What do I say? “kuler is a frickin’ tight color picking app!” :-) Nice work Adobe.

Check it out kuler.

Experience Acrobat 8

This is a very nicely done site. It moves like Flex but it could be Flash. Either way, nicely done Adobe.

Check it out here.

Fox Fantasy

This is sweet. :-) I thought I’d checkout 2Advanced and see what they launched lately. Well, they did a mascot building flash app for Fox that is pretty sweet.

Check it out here.

Art of Greg Martin

Wow! This this site (namely the gallery) is pretty clean. It is very minimal, which is refreshing. The animations are smooth and the reflections add a nice touch of “class” to the layout.

Check it out here.

ClickUrban.com - Great City Resource

My wife's hair dresser wanted to know when Mike Epps would be in town (which is tonight and tomorrow if anyone was curious) so we jumped online to search. I COMPLETELY forgot to checkout Click Urban so it took me a little time to find the theater he will perform (Tempe Improv) and times.

If I remembered ClickUrban.com I would have saved about 20 minutes of my life. :-D lol. So, I figured I'd share the link with everyone else. It is a great site that is on the rise.

KatapultMedia.com v1 Launched

You’ve already seen the design (same as this blog) so nothing new there. Mainly we have a minimal amount of content and some imagery for our portfolio. We are still working on the portfolio details but you can view some of the sites by clicking on the icons. Tell us what you think.

Check it out here.

2Advanced does it again!

That’s right. V4 is gone. V5 has launched and is a SWEET site. It is much cleaner, easier to navigate, and much prettier than previous sites.

Check it out here.

Want to keep tabs on what 2A is up to? Read their new blog called PLAT4M.

Check it out here.

Enjoy!

AbolishTheNWord.com

This isn’t just a nice site for the normal reasons. The site speaks to change, education, and reminds us who we are, where we came from, what life our ancestors lived here in the US, and who we came from. I won’t get all philosophical since the site speaks for itself.

Check it out here.

Teknision V2

They have been around for years and seem to be rockin’ as good as ever. Their site was HUGE back in the day (2002’sh) and was used a many-a-day to showcase (to clients) the Flash chat app (which seems to be gone) and the tweening of the panels. This is more-so a respect entry. Teknision gets mad respect from me by being a bar of tight Flash web sites regardless of the year.

cl1p.net: The Internet Clipboard

I file this under Nice Sites because it is just that. The idea is super sweet and no doubt helpful to me since I have a laptop sitting in front of my desktop that I use for certain tasks.

Basically, create any url after cl1p.net, type whatever you want (or upload a file), hit save, go to the same url on another computer and pull up the same URL. You can set passwords, time limits on saves, and save whatever whenever.

The New Adobe.com

Adobe.com has been upgraded and now includes Macromedia.com (which is a redirect now). Oh…wait…does Adobe.com include Macromedia.com or vice versa? Well, the design is Macromedia’s but you can definitely feel Adobe’s changes (no gradient, dropdown menu [nice enhancement], color changes, etc).

All-in-all…good stuff Adobe. Glad to see it is up!

EVB.com

I just went back to WhenShe’sHot.com while in discussion over motograph (which I’ll post more about at a later date) and noticed the “Site by EVB” link at the bottom. So I checked it out.

At first view I had to figure out what I was looking at. The site doesn’t follow the normal conventions of site nav and/or layout but after a couple seconds you see why. So what did I like?

  1. The book flip is probably the best I’ve seen yet.
  2. The portfolio is quite extensive. They are the one’s behind Whopperrettes.com and WhenShesHot.com along with many other very nice sites.
  3. There isn’t much to the site. It is straight to the point. “Here is our contact info, what we’ve done recently, and some news items.”

They get my bid on being a (VERY) Nice Site!

DeardorffInc.com

Deardorff (DC), one of KM”s biggest clients, recently launched a very nice site. It uses a great blend between dark colors and vibrant colors in a very smooth way. It definitely gives a better vibe about who/what DC really is. The last site was nice but this site really gives a much better and professional vibe. Good stuff DC!

bauldoff.com

I thought I’d show some love to Bauldoff Creative. Bauldoff is a firm out of Pennsylvania headed by Joe Bauldoff, who is a SWEET designer. I love the simple interactivity of his site. Let me list the things I like.

  • background changes on refresh
  • quote changes on refresh (and they aren’t corny…kinda nice)
  • plop on button tween is very slick. Much better than the normal slide or jump. :-)
  • text animates in instead of just showing up
  • the portoflio (really some great work)

Checkout bauldoff.com to experience the simple sweetness. :-) Be sure to stop by the Work->Identity->Chronicles of Narnia section to see 2 images Joe did. VERY nicely done…

Whopperettes.com

Have you seen the BK commercial where the ladies stack up to make a burger? Well, now you can control the Whopperrettes and make your own video. They did a very nice job with the video work in Flash.

FernandoZanatta.com

A friend of mine, Fernando Zanatta, has a fresh new site design. I love the light bulb he uses. The color is very smooth.
