Wise Advice: Never Fight a Bus!
Dude (Dudettes included), how is a Honda Accord going to battle a bus? Dumb huh? Sounds like something you’d see Johnny Knoxville doing on Jack(butt). Well, this lady wasn’t Mr. Knoxville but “she fought the bus and the…bus won!” :-)
Keith Elder and I were in the front two seats on the way from the Microsoft Employee Store to the hotel. Traffic was 100% horrific! I couldn’t believe how bad the traffic was. It was going to be a stretch for me to make it to the airport but I think I would have been right on time. Well, that is until some lady attempted to force herself into our lane while merging into traffic from an on-ramp.
Her driver side mirror was even with the front of the bus. The bus driver kept going, I assume he thought “she can’t be this dump.” She kept going. He kept going. She nudged over more. He kept going. She kept nudging. Whack! {insert Batman graphics here}
She had the AUDACITY to get out of the car and start yelling at the bus driver, which I have on video. :-)
I had to do my due diligence and take snaps of the damages, just in case. The only damage on her car was her mirror. It was busted a bit but from inside the bus you couldn’t even tell, and we were close.
One of the things we all thought was crazy was the lady just parked in the middle of the lane and stayed there until the cops came (about 20 to 30 minutes or so later; seriously). So a big bus and an Accord were blocking traffic a bit during, what looked like, rush hour. The oddest part, which one of the UK guys pointed out, is no one had honked at either of us. They just kept driving like nothing was wrong. I even found that odd. Phoenix would’ve had honking, news choppers, radio station choppers, etc all over that area.
Anyways, it was quite funny. Of course the geeks had to break out the laptops and blog it, since a wifi connection was found. :-) The lady made some dumb actions. She may be an intelligent person. Just in that moment…she didn’t show much of it.
