Vista Beta 2: Software Install Review...coming soon

I have a list (2 pages) of my trials/trib’s with installing and running software on Vista Beta 2. Look for this either tomorrow or one day next week.

Thanks.

i can’t wait for your list — i’ve had a painful experience myself and especially as a developer trying to get through all the new security measures…i disabled the security features i was so sick of seeing authorization required to change file names!

lol. There are tons of folks complaining about the UAC. For the normal user it will be frustrating but for the network admin, it will be a godsend. :-) Now they can rest assured the user isn’t doing anything stupid without at least knowing they are making a bonehead move. LOL.

I keep mine on for now. It is interesting just to see what triggers the feature. Coming from the 5308 release, it is a nice feature. In 5308 it wasn’t as nicely integrated. It does get old though.

PS - Software install review coming in a few minutes.
