Amazon Flex RIA
There has been word for quite some time (before merger) that Flex department folks were working with Amazon to rebuild their site using Flex. It was purely for showcasing Flex’s ability. This dates back to Max but no one has said anything about it since then. I guess someone decided to go ahead and make the RIA.
Click here to see app. It is nicely done in several manners. There are a few tweaks it needs but all-in-all it is a good showcase of the abilities Flex possesses.

John,
I get the same handfull of errors I got on Mike Nimer’s mashup->
VerifyError: Error #1042: Not an ABC file. major_version=46 minor_version=16
and
ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable _Amazon_mx_managers_SystemManager is not defined
i’m guessing i have some older flash player but my question is- aren’t other’s w/o flash 9 going to get the same thing or will it gracefully upgrade their players? That’s why i was asking Jesse in that preso if he thought Flex was ready for primetime on a public-facing web site.

That probably is related to the player version you have and it should’ve prompted you to upgrade but that could quite possibly be left out of the beta. I’ve seen the detection code in my projects but never did any testing.
Try upgrading your player and returning to the preso. I’d def be interested in seeing the outcome. I’ll be over your way tomorrow to meet with Dbake so we can troubleshoot more tomorrow as well.

In most cases you just need to make sure that all the classes that should be public are declared as public. Here is an example>>
